On the evening of August 23, 2007, local time, visiting Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei attended a dinner given by overseas Chinese in Costa Rica to mark the opening of the Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica and to welcome the visit by the Chinese government and business delegation. About 400 people including Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of China Zhi Gong Party Wu Mingxi, Deputy Secretary General Wang Jinzhen of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), overseas Chinese in Costa Rica, as well as Costa Rican treasury, public security and culture ministers attended the dinner, during which an accompanying art troupe gave a performance.
