Since May 15, the professional rescue teams from Japan, Russia, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore arrived in the earthquake-stricken area. Since the decision was made, the working group consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and China Earthquake Administration was dispatched to Chengdu to support the government of Sichuan in coordinating foreign rescue teams in carrying out rescue operations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs dispatched four sub-groups consisting of the cadres with language skills to accompany the rescue teams in their rescue operations and provide them with strong guarantee for rescue operations. Up to now, the foreign rescue teams rescued one survivor from the ruins. |
